10 Tips to perfect skin on your wedding day

Prepping your skin before your wedding day makeup application is crucial to ensure that your makeup looks flawless and lasts throughout the day. Here are our top 10 tips for prepping your skin and getting that picture-perfect look!

1. Start Early: Begin your skincare routine well in advance of your wedding day. Good skin preparation takes time, and you want your skin to be in the best possible condition. Avoid harsh products and avoid trying new skincare products too close to your wedding day, as they may cause adverse reactions or breakouts.

2. Consult a Skincare Professional: Consider consulting with a dermatologist or skincare specialist to address any specific skin concerns you may have, such as acne, uneven skin tone, or dryness.

3. Cleansing: Cleanse your face with a gentle, hydrating cleanser to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup residue. Use lukewarm water to avoid stripping your skin of its natural oils.

4. Exfoliation: Exfoliate your skin 1-3 times a week to remove dead skin cells and improve skin texture. If you have sensitive skin, doing it once a week would be enough. If you don’t usually exfoliate please avoid trying new products within the week before your wedding day, especially harsh scrubs and chemical peels, as you may risk your skin to break out or have your skin peeling off on your wedding day.

5. Treat your skin: Adding a hydrating serum into your skincare routine can help makeup to stay on for longer. Apply a moisturizer to keep your skin plump and smooth. Make sure it's suitable for your skin type (dry, oily, combination). Use any specialized serums or treatments that target specific skin concerns, such as vitamin C for brightening or hyaluronic acid for hydration.

6. Sunscreen: Protect your skin from harmful UV rays by applying a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 every morning, even if it's cloudy.

7. Eye Cream: Apply an eye cream to reduce puffiness and dark circles around your eyes.

8. Lips: Exfoliate your lips and apply a hydrating lip balm to keep them smooth and ready for lipstick application.

9. Take extra care of yourself: Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to your wedding. Ensure you get enough sleep in the nights leading up to your wedding to prevent under-eye puffiness and dull skin.

10. Facials: Consider getting a professional facial a few weeks before your wedding to deep-cleanse and rejuvenate your skin.

Remember that good skincare is an ongoing process, and consistency is key to achieving healthy, radiant skin for your wedding day and beyond.
